I like my sleep. I have a daughter to get ready and I don’t like to have piles of makeup in my bathroom. Clutter makes me crabby!
My typical way of buying makeup is-use it up and THEN buy another.
When I started salon suite renting I wanted to offer makeup that I felt good about. Something that was comparable to the mineral makeup we sold at my previous salon.

I chose Limelife for my makeup kit to use for weddings and special events for clients. I obviously have a ton products for those services.
For anyone like me, who can fit all of my makeup into one tiny pouch, I wanted to list all of what I consider staples for my daily look.
Typically, I get my makeup on in the car once I get to work because its easier than when I’m at home and getting myself and Stella ready.
I like to sleep, remember!
What’s in my bag
- Foundation (sometimes)
- When I don’t use foundation I apply just moisturizer or the Dew Date
- Lipstick
- Blush
- Dew Date
- Skin Therapy moisturizer
- Eyeliner
- Mascara and CURLER
- I have eyelash extensions but when I don’t get them done I MUST have at least a curler, there’s no point in putting mascara on if your lashes point straight out. Get those lashes UP!
These are the items I use to make myself look like I tried for the day! At the very least this part needs to be done. You can find them all here.
Going the extra mile

If I have extra time (and effort), then I will add simple eyeshadow to this routine (before lashes). Typically two colors and then blended together.
Now, take note that I am a licensed cosmetologist, however, I am SIMPLE. I know how to apply make up daily and to spruce it up for a night on the town.
I have just a couple brushes that I use. Two for the eyes and one for blush which makes it easier to find what I need and then I have less to clean.
For eye shadow work
When doing eye shadows I never bother wasting my time unless I have a primer on first otherwise, no matter what powder eye shadow you use it will be gone before noon. I’m not about to do that twice!

You will need
- Primer
- 2-4 shadow colors
- Lighter-lid color
- Light light-under the brow
- Darker-corner crease and depth
This is my makeup routine and staples. You do not need to be a makeup artist or spend hours watching videos online. When in doubt keep it simple, don’t be intimidated and have fun! Check out the link to copy this look here and feel free to ask questions!
